The Monaco ultra-widefield imaging device combined with OCT was launched in the U.S. this month by retinal imaging company Optos plc, part of Nikon Corp.

A compact, desktop ultra-widefield retinal imaging device, Monaco provides greater imaging functionality and expands the company’s product portfolio for the ophthalmic markets, representing Optos’ first combined imaging device with ultra-widefield color imaging, three-in-one color depth imaging and autofluorescence modalities combined with Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT).

Robert Kennedy, CEO of Optos, said, “I am delighted to unveil Monaco, our newest offering for the ophthalmic market. The addition of OCT to our ultra-widefield retinal imaging device offers a more comprehensive array of imaging tools in one machine, enabling eyecare practitioners to see and treat retinal pathology earlier and more effectively.”
