AMPLEYE SCLERAL LENS AVAILABLE IN TWO MORE DIAMETERS
With the addition of 15.0mm and 15.5mm diameters, Art Optical’s Ampleye scleral lens is now available in diameters from 15.0mm to 17.0mm. The reduced diameter Ampleye does not require additional diagnostic lenses. A simple saggital depth conversion calculation from the 16.5mm Dx lens will produce the same initial fitting results. For those who prefer to work with smaller scleral lenses, Art Optical offers nine-lens diagnostic sets in the 15.0mm and 15.5mm diameter. Ampleye lenses also feature anterior surface toric and multifocal optics, quadrant-specific control technology, and Tangible Hydra-Peg surface coating on lenses made in Optimum materials. SAFILENS INTRODUCES CONTACT LENS FOR ASTHENOPIA
The Safilens fusion 1day vista daily contact lens for asthenopia made its debut at the Opti trade show in Munich this week. It features the D-Stress design based on the afocal lens design patented by Safilens and initially introduced in the presbyopia segment. Its geometry offers enhanced depth of field and is designed to reduce eye strain commonly associated with daily activities that over-stress proximal vision, like the prolonged use of digital devices typical of many people’s lives today. The controlled release of natural substitutes for the tear film from the lens to the eye surface ensures long-lasting comfort in dry environments, like air-conditioned offices or when blinking is reduced in frequency or is incomplete such as when staring at a screen for extended periods, according to the company.
