New Scleral Lens from SynergEyes SynergEyes, known for its hybrid contact lenses, has launched its its SynergEyes VS, a scleral lens with distinctive linear landing zones and a toric periphery. The lens design completely vaults the cornea and limbus and lands on the sclera. This non-rotationally symmetrical lens design incorporates linear landing zones to follow the linear shape of the sclera and landing zones with bitangential toricity to provide consistent stabilization and allow for front-surface cylinder. The lens comes in diameters of 14.0mm to 17.5mm (0.5mm steps) and base curves of 7.4mm to 9.2mm (0.2mm steps). It is available in sphere powers of -25.00D to +25.00D (0.25D steps) cylinder powers of -0.75D to -3.00D (0.25D steps) and axis powers 0° to 180° (1° steps). The SynergEyes VS scleral lens may be prescribed using a 16-lens diagnostic set in which all lenses have a toric periphery. Call 877.733.2012, or go to SynergEyes.com/Professional.
Ultra-widefield Imaging from ZEISS ZEISS Medical Technology launched CLARUS 500, a high-definition, ultra-widefield fundus imaging system that combines true color and high-resolution clarity down to 7 microns and lets you view the fundus from the macula to the periphery. True color, which resembles the coloration seen through direct observation, enables you to evaluate focal change in rim tissue, nerve pallor, dry age-related macular degeneration, changes in the retinal pigment epithelium and drusen. With a single capture, ZEISS CLARUS 500 produces a 133° high-definition image, then automatically merges images to achieve a 200° field of view. The technology lets you review and compare images captured during a single exam and provides annotation and caliper measurement tools for in-depth analysis of eye health.
