Healthy Eyes Healthy Children (HEHC), a community grants program administered by Optometry Cares – The AOA Foundation, will award grants up to $5,000 each for projects that align with HEHC’s goal. The grants will fund collaborations between optometrists and community resources to projects that focus on comprehensive pediatric eyecare. The program is supported by Essilor Vision Foundation, Healthy Eyes Advantage and EyeCare Partners. Additionally, Essilor Vision Foundation provides no cost complete glasses through its Changing Life Through Lenses program.
“Our hope is to facilitate ongoing collaborations teaming optometrists with community resources to reach out and meet the vision and eye health needs of children under 18 years of age who are not currently receiving the care they need,” said Carol Marusich, OD, Optometry Cares board member and the co-chair of the HEHC Committee. “This is an opportunity for optometrists to lead the way in helping their community.”
Applications must be submitted by July 2 in order to be considered, and grantees will be notified in August.
